Kirsten’s experience spans both the nonprofit sector and education. She taught first and second grade as a classroom teacher and worked with children individually and in small groups as a learning specialist. Kirsten has a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in Teaching Literacy and Childhood Education from Bank Street College of Education. Kirsten also held development and programmatic positions with nonprofit organizations in New York and Washington, DC. An avid library patron, Kirsten loves helping young children grow as readers and discover the joy of books.
