We train and support community volunteers, supply all necessary program materials, and ensure the smooth operation of the program so that you can concentrate on helping students in your community become strong, confident readers.
What we provide
Multiple program models and levels of support, allowing partners to select programming plans that align with their particular needs and available resources.
Remote or in-person coaching options for maximum responsiveness to instructional demand and partner capacity.
Management of all logistical details including transportation, session schedules, coach-student pairings, seating charts, and inventory upkeep.
Comprehensive training of volunteer coaches to ensure confident program delivery, optimal instruction, and maximum student understanding.
Careful guidance during weekly one-on-one sessions to deliver coaching tools and share effective strategies for navigating student struggles.
Is your community site a good fit?
Could your community site recruit at least 10 volunteers to participate for one hour weekly from mid-October to late May?
Can your site’s volunteers obtain and submit all required clearances (PA state criminal and child abuse; FBI fingerprinting; mandated reporter training). Will your firm cover the costs of obtaining clearances?
Can your community site’s volunteers attend a 90-minute training session prior to the first coaching session?
Does your community site already have affiliated first and second grade students that need literacy coaching and support?
Does your community site have a dedicated space where coaches and students can meet each week?
OR
Do your community site’s volunteers have access to computers (laptop or desktop) equipped with Internet access, a camera and microphone, and updated versions of Zoom and PowerPoint?
